You have your baby’s first birthday gift shopping list penned, now it’s time to check it twice! The list is only the starting point. Even with a list in hand you are unprepared to navigate the shopping land mine. The next step for seasoned shoppers is research. You know what your toddler wants, but it is easy to become distracted by other gifts that are just too cute. If you have created your list with care then the treasure chest, easy bake oven and red wagon will be just the right stuff.
Research begins with sale advertisements. Get your hands on as many of those sale circulars as you can and begin to read. Find out what is on sale; amend your list if necessary. A word of caution here: don’t let a good sale draw you off target.
Holiday Shopping Diva Secret: Hold the course
If your list is complete, and each child on it is well supplied with gifts to fulfill their birthday fantasies don’t be tempted to add to it. At a certain point one more gift becomes gluttony. I had a friend who made this her mistake. She just could not pass up the good deals. Sometimes, the children have so much to open they got bored, asked when they could be finished and eventually they simply stopped opening gifts. Abandoning wrapped packages, they went off to play.

Each and every one of us always knew that the famous character on the Muppets named Elmo was with us way back before but we didnt knew that Elmo was born in the early 1970s. Elmo wasnt that popular before and in fact he used to be just a background to the Muppet characters not like today that he owns a big name. This was due to the very talented puppeteer Kevin Clash that reborn Elmo not until 15 years later he owns the popular character Elmo.
The amazing popularity of Elmo was able to storm America and other part of the world as predicted by review critics they even thought that its holiday sales will be more than the astonishing trend as compared to the Tickle Me Elmo doll created last 1996. Elmo was compared as youngest among the Sesame Street Icons like Big Bird or Cookie Monster but he was able to prove a higher reputation. Many childrens around the world has been with Elmo until the time they are fully grown up and they see Elmo as a friend more than a toy.

A common new tradition that began a few years ago is to include an arts and crafts segment as part of your baby showers itinerary. Arts and crafts are a great way to create fun and excitement, and to strengthen bonds between friends and family. Many women, and even men, enjoy spending time together while practicing fun activities like arts and crafts. Today, there are several baby-related crafts that are a blast and will create a great time for your guests at your celebration.
The most common craft for baby showers is probably the diaper cake. This is a group activity that all your guests can do together. This is a great way to start the party, as it creates a mood of togetherness and establishes unity among all your friends and family. For this activity, you will need around fifty diapers, fifty feet of a smaller, narrow ribbon, and eight feet of a thicker, wide ribbon. Cut the fifty feet of thin ribbon into one-foot segments.

I write about mens gifts and mens gift ideas, and I get asked a lot of questions about buying great gifts for men. And there’s one question that comes up more than any other. “What gift do I buy for the man who has enough money to buy anything he wants?”
Now of course there’s lots of men with enough money to buy whatever they want, and when birthday time or Christmas time comes he’s got it all. Men like this don’t drop hints about what they would like because if they want it they buy it. Whatever he wants he’s got.
There are also plenty of men who can’t quite buy whatever they want, because there’s things he wants that he can’t afford. This is good and bad. It’s good because there’s at least some things he really wants, it’s bad because often YOU can’t afford them either. Ask him to see if there’s anything like that.
But for a moment lets assume that he’s got all he wants. There’s his birthday coming up, or maybe it’s Christmas coming up, and you really want to get him a hot gift anyway. Something he’ll love even if he’s got everything.

Your doll is maybe one of your most precious toy and so you are always considering the idea of buying her some dresses and accessories. Well, nowadays, it’s not anymore so much of a problem. In fact, by just having a little research over the web, you can already buy your doll some great stuff. Online, particularly in eBay and Amazon, you’ll get to see a lot of clothing lines and accessories for all doll types, contemporary and historical. Surely, buying would be a whole lot easier and more enjoyable with the advancement in technology.
So far, most dolls’ clothing lines are fabulous, they are irresistible. Typical doll clothes in most clothing lines you will see include every day outfits, sporty outfits, and dressy outfits. Every day outfits are perfect when doll loves hanging out with some doll friends, sporty outfits are just right when doll likes active playtime, and dressy outfits are ideal when doll loves attending parties.
As of now, many love dressy outfits for their doll as they are in wide range. There are garden dresses and sun dresses for dolls fond of outdoor activities. Holiday dresses are also on the line for dolls fond of attending special events.

For kids, bath time is one of the joys of life. Bath toys are part and parcel of taking a bath. For parents, choosing the right bath toys that straddle fun and safety requires some thought and with younger kids, constant supervision. Bath toys that float are obviously good choices. The all time favorite, the little rubber yellow ducky, tops the list. He squeaks, floats and is cute.
However, come bath time, kids want to bring half of their toy chest in to the tub. A Barbie doll or a metal car may be must-haves for your child. You’re afraid of the danger posed by these bath time toys that tend to sink rather than swim. A bath full of bubbles, with Barbie or the beloved metal car at the bottom of the tub, means that there’s the potential of your child going underwater to search out their toy. So direct supervision is an absolute necessity. Even when you’re right there, a child might dip their head underwater to retrieve their toy, swallowing water simply because they don’t know any better. Such an event can trigger a fear of water in a child that’s not easily outgrown.

This year, the hottest trends for baby naming are quite a bit unusual. From biblical names with a twist to foreign names, 2009 sets a whole new pattern for naming babies. Name meanings and history are important to consider when naming a baby, since that name will be something that will be with them for the rest of their lives. Although name definitions are the first things one usually looks at when choosing the perfect name for a baby, following name trends has become very common in todays society. Year 2008 keeps a little bit of the traditional element in popular baby names, but also integrates modern style, a retro factor, and an unusual touch.
As it has been established for the past few years, biblical traditional names are some of the most popular. Jacob, Joshua, Abigail, Daniel, and Gabriel are some names that have been prevalent in recent times. A few uncommon additions to these common biblical names are those such as Caleb, Ethan, Zachary, and Elijah. The name “Elijah” is actually one of the most popular names this year. Many people hold true to biblical names because they are classic, and they usually have a beautiful, deep meaning that professes great things for your babys life.

The purpose of a baby shower is to celebrate the arrival of a new baby, and to welcome the little one into the world. Today, expectant mothers often decide to know the gender of the baby before they give birth, and it is known ahead of the baby shower. However, in some cases, parents choose to wait until the due date to know the sex of the baby and be surprised the day that the infant arrives.
In American society, when the gender of the baby is known, parents often begin brainstorming ideas and deciding on some names that they believe will be perfect for the baby. In many cases, parents already know what they want to name the baby even before the child is born. This is not the case, however, for various different cultures.
There are a variety of different cultures that view the baby-naming process from a completely different perspective. Each cultural group generally has some sort of a baby-naming ceremony or traditional process. From the Jewish to the Japanese, each culture views the act of giving a name to a baby from a very interesting and distinct angle.

So you own an American Girl doll. Well, as the owner, extra effort is expected from you for your doll to always look best. As the owner, you must know how to take good care of your doll so she will always be presentable. You must know the do’s and don’ts in regards to taking care of your doll.
I myself also own a doll so personally I have my own list of do’s and don’ts in regards to taking care of my doll. And I actually want to share this list to you.
Do’s:
Keep doll away from sunlight. It is not advisable to expose the doll to sunlight most especially for a long period of time. Doll will quickly look old when often exposed to sunlight.
Wash hands before grabbing the doll. Our hands are oftentimes full of dirt and so grabbing our doll without first washing our hands is not a good idea. It is best to wash hands first to make sure they are clean.
