Personalized Fortune Cookies - A Great Way To Get Your Message Out

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Almost everyone is familiar with fortune cookies. Light and flavorful, these cookies are handed out at the end of almost every meal eaten in an Asian restaurant. Of course, as good as the cookies may be, what people are really interested in are the little pieces of paper inside. From the ridiculous to the sublime, these fortunes are the best part of the cookie. So what if you could print your own message on those little pieces of paper? What if you could create a custom fortune cookie to sell your idea or make your announcement?

It turns out that you can. A quick search on the internet turns up a lengthy list of companies that specialize in creating custom fortune cookies. Instead of being mass produced, these cookies are made for individual customers who can customize the cookies themselves as well as the messages contained within them.

There are so many things that can be done to change the appearance of the fortune cookie. You can get them dyed in a variety of colors. You can get them dipped in chocolate or coated with a colorful candy shell. You can even have them sent as a bouquet. This would attract much more attention than a common vase of flowers.

Guide to Baby Shower Invitations

Friday, April 24th, 2009

To celebrate the birth of a baby, it is often times traditional for friends and family of the expectant mother to throw a baby shower. These baby showers help supply the mother to be with essentials for the baby by means of gifts. Sometimes baby showers are elaborate parties, while other times they are simply casual get togethers. Either way, if you are going to host an baby shower, you will need to send out some good invitations.

You see, if you don’t have a good invitation that clearly communicates the theme and feel of the baby shower, you attendance is likely to suffer. The look, feel, and wording of the invitation need to communicate the nature of the event clearly to all of the invitees.

As you design the invitation, don’t just focus on the looks, though. Make sure that the content includes all the important details your guests will need to know, such as place, time, and RSVP info. Also, make sure that the name of the mother and the sex of the baby (if known) are included, for obvious reasons. Once these are done, be sure to send them out with enough time to make sure that everyone can set aside the time they need to attend.

A Concerns Adoptive Moms Have That You Shouldn’t Ask About

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Yes, adoption can be scary. Yes, those who adopt are well aware of those fears. If you know someone who is adopting, be a good friend and don’t remind her of those fears by asking questions that will simply make her stay awake all night with worry.

It’s not uncommon for those who are adopting to be approached by friends or loved ones with all of the adoption nightmare stories you hear on expose television shows. It’s somewhat like how pregnant women are approached by other women with labor pain stories. Unfortunately, not every adoption story ends with a happily ever after wrap up, but they are the minority. Most adoptions are successful blessed events. People who have decided to adopt a child are well educated about the emotional and financial risk factors. They have decided to go forward with an adoption despite the risks.

The family that is adopting could even specify that they would be open to adopting a child who has special needs, is disabled, or is (gasp!) a teenager. It’s nearly impossible for anyone to adopt who has not received counseling in preparation; and the more challenging the circumstances, the more counseling may continue after the adoption is finalized. Everyone desires, the same thing, which is the best outcome for themselves and the child.

The baptism or christening is baby’s first of many important religious ceremonies. Centerpieces to Make Your Baby Shower a Success

Monday, January 26th, 2009

When a couple finds out they’re about to become parents, it’s the most joyous time in their lives. But as with any exciting change, the couple may be overwhelmed with all the things they need to do to get prepared for their bundle of joy’s arrival. If you are planning on helping them with this, then hosting a baby shower for them is always appreciated. Here are some ideas to quickly create easy and cute baby shower centerpieces for the party:

Diaper Cake This is one of the cutest baby shower centerpieces ever imagined. Using a bag of disposable diapers, you create round “cake” layers by binding together handfuls of the diapers. Then stack the layers into a layer cake shape and attach them together with tape or ribbons. Once you’ve done that, you can add small baby accessories like pacifiers, baby bottles, rattles and small toys all around the sides of the layers or hanging off the sides. Then add a top to the cake with a small stuffed toy, baby bank or balloons. The parents can take the diaper cake home with them at the end of the shower and use all the items for their new baby.

What is a Wall Decal, Wall Sticker or Cling?

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

You may be tired of the look of your room or your kids room. You can give it a new appearance and change the wall designs or the wallpaper of their rooms by using wall decals, wall stickers, or clings. You can also choose different wall decals for the rest of the rooms in your entire house.

Wall decals are made of vinyl with adhesive glue at the back of the designs for easy sticking to wall. The materials are especially chosen and combined together to create this kind of wall decal. This is done by pasting the wall decal to the wall using the adhesive glue and the new room appearance is there. If you want to remove it, you can easily do so as well. There will be no residue of glue or any damage to the original paint of the wall after the removal of the wall decal.

Clings are different in that there is no adhesive; one simply lifts it off the surface. Depending on the texture of the wall you are decorating, clings may fall off your walls more easily. For that reason, clings are best for windows and mirrors.

What’s the Big Deal About Wall Letters?

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Are you wondering about wall letters? One of the most unique gifts you will come across this year is that of the wall decal. The idea of the wall decal is that a homeowner or apartment dweller can decorate his or her walls without the need for heavy maintenance. This is especially effective for children who enjoy decorating their walls and re-decorating within a short amount of time.

We often associate decals with car decorating but recently, decals have gained wide acceptance in home decorating. Its easy application and water-proof material have made vinyl-based decals a big part of the do-it-yourself home & decorating industry. Several types of decal designs are available but one of the most striking product lines is the wall letters.

These wall letters have become very popular in recent years because they eliminate the need for extensive home maintenance in home decoration. Years ago, parents had to devote several days to the process of painting a room, installing wallpaper or incorporating a drawing into wall space. These precocious residents may have wanted more variety in their wall design, but their working parents were probably unwilling to redecorate the house every few months. The best advantage of vinyl wall lettering is that it is fast, safe and does not damage the wall with nails or paint tears. Older children can be taught to apply vinyl wall lettering and parents can put up these decals in just a few moments.
