Anime Fans Are Just Like Everyone Else

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Anime has had many a reputation. One of them that has stuck for a long time and is always associated with the genre is that it is something that only nerds are involved in. Even with evidence to the contrary, people who watch anime are always considered nerdish in every way.

There are fans and non-fans who will disagree with such a conclusion. While some might feel that fans would naturally oppose negative opinions of their passion and interests, they do provide convincing evidence that prove that the general public is wrong.

First of all, anime is just another form of entertainment media. It just so happens to be in a form that is often associated with children. However, within the genre itself there are many different types of content matter, many of them which deal with adult issues.

Next, people who love anime are no different from those who enjoy getting their thrills from action movies. The latter exhibit the same passion when discussing their favorite movies or action sequences. However, they are never considered to be ‘nerdy’ in behavior.

Toys for Tots – Plush Toys Are Great!

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Kids these days have a ton of options to choose from when it comes to plush toys. There are plush Care Bears, Disney, Family Guy, Simpsons, Webkinz and many more toys for kids and all ages. The most popular theme for these toys is clearly animals.

As a kid I had a favorite teddy bear that I could not part with. I would carry it everywhere with me and wouldn’t let go for anything (even when I was sleeping). It amazes me that now the Farnell, Steiff and other collector items bears are still sought after so strongly.

Want to keep a 3 year’s old attention for 30 minutes? Put in a Sesame Street video and watch them stay transfixed as they follow Oscar and the gang on their merry way. The Sesame Street show has created a huge following for the plush toy dolls of all the characters on tv.

Beanie Babies come in all different animal types, baby bear, dinosaur, blue jay, cat and even geese. Beanie babies were extremely popular a few years ago, but remain a choice item for collectors and kids – you will see people still buying them by the truckload on eBay!

Webkinz – It’s About Time You Looked Into Them

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Webkinz may sound new to you, but for others, the news is not so news. There are many people that have been enjoying Webkinz for some time now. If you have children in this day and age, then we guarantee you know what Webkinz are, especially if those children get on the computer.

Not only are children playing with this virtual world, but there are many adults that are playing with this. We are probably not the first adult to admit this, but we just cannot get enough of Webkinz. Seriously, they are so cute!

As you are reading this article, you are going to find some information that we believe you should know about Webkinz.

If you have a child that is six years old, then it is time to start introducing them to Webkinz. However, even if you have a four year old, you can introduce them to Webkinz.

Are you concerned about the Webkinz world being safe? We don’t blame you for this as the Internet can be an unsafe place for children. Many parents really appreciate efforts such as Webkinz.

How To Buy Radio Controlled Cars

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

I have recently viewed many radio controlled cars online with the view to buying one but was amazed at the options, choices and decision I had to make to actually get what I wanted.

Like nearly every product, there now seems to be hundreds of websites dedicated to just that niche and with so much competition it’s hard to decided what’s good and what isn’t.

You then have to decide what type of radio controlled car you want!

I even have to decide on whether I want the car I am buying to be already built or assembled by me.

Choosing which fuel to opt for also opens up a can of worms and makes the entire process even more baffling.

‘OK so what do you want your radio control car to do?’ is the next question I was asked and my answer was simply ’sorry!’. Was it naive of me to want this to act as a normal car would and drive around a bit! All joking aside though this started getting complicated.

Ride on Cars – Stuff to Consider

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Ride on cars first appeared in around 1890, with the production of Daimlers, but became very popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Right when I was growing up in fact.

In those days we like to think we made the cars ourselves, but Dad probably did most of the work! And for well-off kids – well their parents probably bought them ready made from the shop. The cars were made from wood or metal and they were generally copies of the “real thing”. Since they generally used lead paint they probably weren’t safe as modern ride on cars.

Why would you buy a ride on car these days? Is there any educational benefit, for instance? Well there probably is. As children grow up, learning is going on all the time, and zipping along in a ride on car is providing both mental and physical stimulation at the same time. Ride on cars are great for eye-hand coordination, and help to prepare kids for their later driving experiences.

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

With the increase of club culture these days, new trends are developing. Teenagers can now be seen at clubs with shiny light emitting toys that look catchy making the club atmosphere groovier. Most teenagers are now proud owners of club toys that not only make them look cooler in the club, but also serve as a souvenir.

Most clubs are dark and the dance floor is lit only by the sparkles and beams of the disco balls and other hidden lighting systems that the clubs have. In this atmosphere you will barely be seen unless you are an exceptionally good dancer or you stand out in some manner. But a new way that people have found out to make their presence felt in the clubs are though the club toys. When you see a person sporting a club toy, you will notice them. The club toys glow and display enticing patterns of colors.

The History of My Little Pony toys since the 1980s

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

My Little Pony toys, which were conceived by and are still made by Hasbro, have brought magical fun to millions of little girls worldwide over several decades. They are still around today bringing enjoyment to children and adult collectors alike.

These multi-coloured, pretty little pony toys have had a varied history over the years since they were conceived but their essential personalities remain the same, fun and friendly.

The first generation of My Little Pony toys ran from 1983 to 1995 (1992 in the US) and there were initially only six little ponies. These original six ponies were all Earth ponies, that is they had no wings or horns, unlike some later little ponies.

They had pastel-coloured bodies and a different colour tail and mane, each with individual symbols on their bodies. Each pony came with a comb to brush their soft manes and tails, and a ribbon.

The original My little Ponies that were released in the 1980s influenced an entire generation of little girls growing up then. The same little girls and are still in love with their little ponies, which are now collectable items.
